Saturday STEMchicks: Forens-chicks

Today’s Forens-chicks workshop was super fun! Girls channelled their inner sleuth as they learned about DNA, chromatography, fingerprints, and more! A VERY big ‘thank you’ goes to the volunteers from Miss Lake County Florida for assisting and Danissa Photography for capturing our event. We appreciate you!!!!

Saturday STEMchicks: Brain Freeze

We had a blast at Saturday STEMchicks: Brain Freeze in Mount Dora! Girls listened to a presentation about Antarctica (thanks Marsha and Wes!), tried on cold weather clothing worn by scientists, simulated whale blubber, explored dry ice to learn about sublimation, and learned about chemistry while making yummy ice cream!

Thanks Science Bob!

STEMchicks was recently selected to receive these super awesome t-shirts from Science Bob!  Each girl attending Saturday’s Brain Freeze workshop will receive one for free! Learn more about Science Bob at www.sciencebob.com.
